Diesel Prices in Belgium Are Set to Hit Record High

(MENAFN) Diesel prices in Belgium are expected to hit a new record of €2.489 ($2.88) per liter on Wednesday, marking a sharp rise of more than 16 cents in a single adjustment, according to reports.

The increase brings diesel costs close to the €2.50 ($2.90) threshold, as stated by reports citing the Economy Ministry. Gasoline prices are also set to rise, though at a slower pace, with 95-octane fuel (E10) increasing by 4.4 cents to €1.945 ($2.25) per liter.

Meanwhile, 98-octane gasoline (E5) is projected to exceed €2 ($2.32) per liter, reaching €2.027 ($2.35) following a 4.3-cent hike. Prices at these levels were last observed in mid-November 2022.

The ministry attributes the adjustments to ongoing volatility in fuel markets amid continued conflict in the Middle East, according to reports.
